CALENDAR OF EVENTS CContinued from Page 285 I7-Christmas spirit is soaring. Assembly to distribute gifts. Short program. JANUARY 2-Vacation over. We get settled for some hard studying. Soon be semesters. 13-Mrs. Watkins comes to take Mrs. Thomas' place. We certainly are having a lot of History teachers, aren't we? I9-Carl Lane home on furlough. Visits school. 20, 21-Semester exams. Oh!! 22-Ball game with Mount Vernon. VVe won. Don't get excitedg it was their second team. 23-RSX Medders quits school. We all miss him a lot! 25-Seniors receive class pictures. 26-Assembly to elect cheer leaders: Jackie Sellers and Margaret Sullivan. Bluford plays Bele Rive in first game of County Tournament. We won. 27-Bluford plays Waltonville in second game of Tournie and we won AGAIN! 28--L3.St game of tournament: we play Bonnie, and win. Bluford takes FIRST place. Yea, Team! FEBRUARY 4-Juniors begin selling magazines to raise money for the banquet. 6-Mrs. Watkins leaves. We can't understand why we have so much trouble keeping teachers. It couldn't be the kids, or could it? 7-Miss Hicks keeps fourth hour study in for half an hour at noon. We weren't VERY mean, were we? Mrs. Power starts teaching History. We hope we can keep her. 9-Norman Thomason home on leave. Visits school. II-MF. Samford visits school. He looks nice. Very nice! I3-Jim Austin, now going to school in Chicago, visited school today. 15-Bluford plays Wayne City. They beat us, 35 to 31. It was a good game anyway. I7-Clyde Shields leaves for army. We are going to miss our captain. 19-Regional tournament beginsg Bluford vs. Mount Vernon. We'll win. Oh, well, we can dream can't we? 22-June is B.H.S., super salesman. She sold the most magazines. MARCH 3-End of fourth six weeks. How time does Hy. 4-Frank Sinatra on at the Granada in Higher and Higher. Several Bluford girls go. Yes, they all swooned. 20, 21, 22-Senior work on annual. And we do mean work. 24-Jean gives birthday party. Good refreshments. Two foreign missionaries speak at high school. Too bad we all didn't get to hear him. Very interesting. APRIL 7-Good Friday. No school. 14-End 5th six weeks. MAY 28-Baccalaureate. 29, 30, 31-Semester exams. JUNE 2-Commencement. . 32 The 1044 Web
