Snakes are coiled upon the granite. Horsemen ride into the west. lVloons are rising on the planet Where the worst must suffer like the rest. Pears are ripe and peaches falling Suns are setting in the east. Women wail and men are calling I To the god that s in them and to the beast. Love is waiting for a lover. Generations kneel for peace. What men lose, lVlan will recover Polishing the brains his bones release. Truth conceals itself in error History reveals its face: Days of ecstasy and terror lnvent the future that invents the race. Donald Lehmkuhl Oh Father high in Heaven Smile down upon your son Who's busy with his money games his women and his gun. And the unsung Western Hero killed an Indian or three And made his name in Holly- wood to set the white man free. lf Jesus saves - well He'd better save Himself from the gory glory seekers who use His name in death. l saw Him in the city and on the mountains of the moon - His cross was rather bloody - He could hardly roll his stone. -- lan Anderson

The World is full of a vast variety of beautiful things, but most of them are ephemeral. The dewdrop and the daffodil, the rainbow and butterfly, last for a few moments or a few days and are gone, preserved only in memory or in lines written by a great poet. Precious stones, more than any other things which are lovely to the eye, endure, in terms of human measurement, eternally. -- B,W, Anderson, GEIVISTONES FOR EVERYNIAN Aristotle once said, The roots of education are bitter, but the fruit is sweet. As for me, Webb School has been no easy experience. lVly stay at Webb has been filled with many bitter memories, but then again, I have had many beautiful ones. For me, one of the hardest and most important qualities to accept is that of maturity. lt almost defies definition. For it is through the eyes of maturity that we as humans can see the world as it truly exists. I hope that one day maturity will enable me to reap the rewards of my Webb education. l now leave Webb for studies in New York. l have waited many years for this op- portunity. And it is here where education is most important to the individual: to study- and benefit- from something you truly love and cherish! This is the fruit Aristotle speaks of. 90M-14,!l.7'la-ag
