Nine years ago the white wooden huiling, known as the Hay Creek School, was erected in the south part of town. In 1922 the first complete high school was taught with E. B. Brown as superintendent. During the summer of '24 it was decided that Webb City High needed a more pretentious home, so a part of the brick building was put up and high school classes were conducted in it with Mr. Brown as superintendent and G. P. Wild, principal. As enrollment increased, it was necessary to make the building larger. More rooms were added in 1925 and now there are, on the main floor, a large, well-equip- ped library and study hall. a home economic department of three rooms, a science laboratory with adequate equipment, thirteen regular class rooms, two shower rooms, 400 capacity auditorium which is also the gym, and offices for superintendent, princi- pal and secretary. In the basement are the supply rooms, boy scout rooms, an in- dustrial arts department with usable tools, and the engine room. The building is modern throughout. At present M. B. Nelson is superintendent and L. C. Ellwanger is principal. There are eleven other faculty members, all of whiom have bachelordegrees. There is a total enrollment of 254 students in high school. The Webb City High School is a member of the North Central Association. Page Five
