CLASS PROPHECY In 1940 Miss Pearl Chaney decided to tour the United States to see her dear Seniors of '30 and '31, She first visited Hollywood, California, where she saw the two famous actors of the day, Lorene Blackstock and Hannah Corn. She then de- cided to attend the main attraction that afternoon, a football game between Stanford and Yale. The two coaches were soon recognized as Starr Rinard and Bernard Randolph. After the game, she decided that she needed to visit a beauty parlor and upon inquiring decided to visit the Bobette, which was conducted by Grace Reese and Rubye Jean Gravitt. She next visited Chicago where she heard Katharine Jordan sing over the radio. From here she journeyed to the leading newspaper office. Here sat nobody but LeRoy Blackstock. who was editor-in-chief. Beside him was Lee Opal Warren, who was always busy typing. The next few days were spent inside a court room where Billie LaBorde, a very pr-osperous lawyer, and Louis Maher, as the sober judge, were found. At Detroit, Mich.. was John Eastwood, a famous inventor. Her next stop was St. Louis where Frances Elkins and Mabel Campbell were operating a large gymnasium for reducing. Here she saw Hazel Carr and Helen Parker taking special reducing lessons. Her journey was delayed by her sudden illness, and who should be her doctor and nurse but Woodrow Blackstock and Carrie Nellie Cozart. Under their special care she soon recovered and returned home.
