RESPONSIBILITIES OF FREEDOM The essence of the Spirit of 76 is freedom and democracy. But, more important than the actual freedom is the obligation of responsibility that comes with this freedom. We, as Americans, have a multitude of responsibilities and these responsibilities are international in scope. Initially, the responsibility to be in- formed voters is mandatory to a successful operation of govern- ment. And finally, with our military potential, the responsibili- ty of peace in the world lies in our hands. We, the yearbook staff of Webb City High School, perceive the Spirit of 76 as being not only a spirit of freedom but a responsibility of this spirit to he informed high school students and good American citizens. The campaign for Student Senate officers resulted in the election of, fClock-wisej, Toby Bottom, Secretary, John Wynne, President, Wes Waggoner., Reporter, Susan Campbell, Vice-Presidentg and Kent Williams, Treasurer. Leadership and innovation for W.C.H.S. has traditionally been the responsibility of the Student Senate.
