The Junior High Sweetheart Dance was held February 13, 1959, in the high school cafe- teria. The Sweetheart Queen was chosen by a popular vote of the junior high students attending the dance. The seventh, eighth and ninth grades selected candidates from their classes for sweetheart queen. From the seventh grade: Bonnie Hall, Janice Wingo, and JoAnn Russell. From the eighth grade: Marilyn Bates, Linda Barnes, and Carolyn Bates. From the ninth grade: Sue Sheckells, Vicki Carter, and Carol Smart.
