The Queen's attendants were Miss Nancy Rates, Junior, escorted by Dick Burrisg and Miss Mary Lou Legg, escorted by Ed Sumpter. The Junior High Sweetheart Dance was held February 13, 1959, in the high school cafe- teria. The Sweetheart Queen was chosen by a popular vote of the junior high students attending the dance. The seventh, eighth and ninth grades selected candidates from their classes for sweetheart queen. From the seventh grade: Bonnie Hall, Janice Wingo, and JoAnn Russell. From the eighth grade: Marilyn Bates, Linda Barnes, and Carolyn Bates. From the ninth grade: Sue Sheckells, Vicki Carter, and Carol Smart.
