BEST SPORTS Proudly displaying the plaque ol' the Iiabe lluth Sportsmanship Award, upon which their names will be en- graved, are Ted Cowan and Alice Shivlcy. Selections for this award are based on sportsmanship in the school room, or the athletic field and play- ground, in the school community and in the home community. They were given this honor by a representative committee composed of Student Coun- cil and Faculty and the vote of the senior high student body. This is the sixth year that the Student Council has sponsored this award. lags- ZH BEST CITIZENS Standing near the flag of' our country, are Tomi Williams and Jay Wolcott, who, according to the vote of the faculty and of the Senior Class. best exemplify the ideals of citizenship of the Class of 1956. Selection is based on dependability, service, leadership, and patriotism. Miss Williams is sponsored by the Daughters of the American Revolution. Medals were presented to them at the Honor Assembly. Also on April 5, Tomi and Jay spent the day as guests ol' the Joplin Chamber of Commerce along with the Best Citizen representatives oi' other district high schools.
