Fall-The 97 Juniors stormed W.C.H.S., September 2, and held election of class officers, however, amid stiff competition, Loomis Crandall emerged as president of the Junior class. The football season opened with a bang, the Junior class being Well rep- resented in football players, cheerleaders, and drum corps. Winter-Everyone is still talking of the successful Junior class play, Our Town . Debaters crashed the headlines when Webb City took the Big-Eight tournament and the Miami speech festival. Believe it or not, three of the group were the invincible Juniors. Spring-Well, well, in the spring a young man's fancy -but have you heard the lovely voices of our singing stars leading the vocal department? We felt very proud seeing our five members initiated into the National Honor Societyg and twelve, into the international journalistic society-The Quill and Scroll. Here we reach the greatest gala event of the year-Junior-Senior Banquet. The gorgeous gowns, Arabian Nights set- ting, the delicious food, the thrilling entertainment feverything according to Emily Postb-made such a nice way to finish the school year. Before signing off, we would like to express our appreciation to our sponsors-Miss Hammond, Mrs. Sargent, and Mrs. Hubbard-for making this broadcast possible. - lin 1917 Webb City High School became a member of the North-Central Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools. By much effort we have continued our hzgh standing in this rating association. Page 25
