enions l SPGNSORS MR. GILLMAN MRS. MERCER MR. WILLIAMS C O L O R S G r e e n oc nf cl G 0 l al O F F I C E R S President . . ....... . LOUIE HUGHES Vice President . . JOHN MYERS Secretary . . . PAT HARGIS John Myers Pat Hargis Louie Hughes Seniors Signing Of Attention please! Instead of the regularly scheduled program, a very important newscast of the Senior Class of W. C. H. S.-The News Highlights of the Year in Review-will be given by Madelyn Adamson. In September, 1947, Louie Hughes won the popular vote for president, and this tall, hand- some athlete has carried out his duties well. In sports, the Webb City All-Star football team was well supplied with seniors. Don McGaw and John Woolsey were elected co-captains of the team. The Big-Eight Basketball champs, under Captain John- SHIRLEY FERRELL BOB HICKAM ny Myers, proved to be the fastest team in the district. And now we turn from athletics to glamour. Rain failed to mar the impressiveness of the scene, when Miss Paula Fite was crowned Queen of Football at the half of the Monett game by Gene Davis, Student Council president. At a very beautiful ceremony, in an enchanted garden of rainbow colors, palms, and flowers, Miss Lois Watson was crowned Queen of KING JACK by the senior class president. With Shirley Poulson in the lead and a splendid cast of eighteen, how could our senior play, Star Dust , help getting rave notices from the critics? A most delectable banquet given us by the Juniors-a gala evening in which beauty and chivalry, as well as fun and frolic, reigned-will ever linger in our mem- ories. On Class Day we were proud as Punch of our four Honor Students-Fred, Barbara, Lois, and Joe. This is the last of a series of programs presented by the Class of '48, and looking back, we will always remember this year as one of the Best Years of Our Lives. SENIOR BEST CITIZENS TWENTY YEARS OF PROGRESS-Webb City High School and the Elementary Schools have kept abreast of the times and' shown progress in many ways. Page 18
