Members of the class have been active in the music, speech, and athletic departments. Robert Woodard has done a splendid job as president of the Student Body. Maxine Hancock, besides being the secretary of the Student Body, led the band, and had the lead in the Senior Play, Green Stockings. Shirley Roark on the debate team helped capture the Big Eight trophy for us this year. Helping to keep up the same high standards as of yore were the Girl Reserves president, Kathleen Craneg and the Hi-Y president, Kenneth Watkins. Shirley Palmer is the high-stepping major of the Girls' Drum Corps. The Football Queen was Jane Duncan, and the Annual Queen, Frances Watson. Saying goodbye to their Alma Mater are athletes like Bill Tillman, Jim Hicks, Bob Hedworth, and Tommie Rodgers, who is also president of the band and had one of the leads in the Senior Play. -A dancer who will be missed is Delores Payneg singers, Joyce Selvidge, Maxine Hancock, Marian Bentley, and the seniors in the girls' nonet. Boys going into the .service of their country have been Lester Spence, LeRoy Nelson, Jimmie Hicks, R. G. Campbell, and John Richard Atkerson. We bid them Godspeed.
