Our time will be remembered for: Two-Tone Jeans, Swatches, Hurricane Gloria, South Africa, New Coke, Gucci Underwear, Balli’s, Reebok’s, Commando, Rocky IV, La-Di-Da-De, Football is back, The Show, Ready For The World, Postponed Party, Pep Rally, Cheerleaders’ New Look, Legends, Still Sinking . .. WORD!!! SENIORS STAFF ACTIVITIES SPORTS PG 114 ANDREW ALLEN (ACTIVITIES EDITOR) LAMONT ANDREWS (INTRODUCTION EDITOR) ALISON CARTER (ACTIVITIES EDITOR) VENTON FORBES (PHOTOGRAPHY EDITOR) CARMEN FUENTES (INTODUCTION EDITOR) JANIE HALL (EDITOR CHIEF) RENEE HITE (STAFF EDITOR) CANDICE JOHNSON (STAFF EDITOR) YOLANDA LEE (PHOTOGRAPHY EDITOR) CHARLIE NORMAN (SPORTS EDITOR) SONCERE WHITECLOUD (SENIOR EDITOR) VARICK WILLIAMS (SENIOR EDITOR) EVENING YEARBOOK STAFF: ANDREW ALLEN, MARVIN THOMPSON, BARBARA ANDERSON, GREG MILLS, CHRIS FRASER, LIAMA BELCHER, RICHARD HEWITT, CARMEN FUENTES, FLOYD MITCHELL, CYNTHIA ST. JOHN, LAMONT ANDREWS, YINESTRA WEST, MICHAEL MOORE, ROSLYNN HOOKS, MARK ALLEYNE, ALICE JULIUS, VICTOR EDWARDS. 7:00 Most of the men put on their Balis Gucci underwear in hopes of impressing their dates. 7:30 Greg M. is frantically trying to find Demetra J. who is getting her hair done. 7:45 Richard H. Pieter H. are pushing the car, hoping that they might make it in time for dessert. 8:00 The elegant class of ’86 steps out of their New Yorkers and limos in their royal blues, pinks, lavenders, reds, yellows, and white, looking every bit as classy as their title implies. 8:01 Vernon K. keeps on dropping food in his lap, right- handed Patrick J. and left-handed Robin B. are clash- forks, and everyone else manages to eat. 9:01 Pictures, formal and informal, are being taken of until couples at the tables and individually. Marvin T. kisses all the ladies and Charlie N. and crew make “arrangements.” 1:00 A lot of people begin heading over to Leta L’s house for the “after party.” 3:00 At this time some of the couples leave, and after that who knows how they celebrated! Iff 1 K • v : f) - f | V v 1 i 6:00 Weaver Beavers are still tossing and many are turning off their alarms. 6:30 They all know they should be getting up now so most fall out of bed. 6:45 The men and women of Weaver are making several crucial decisions: “What should I wear?” “Do I need a curl here?” 7:1 4 Students have left their houses and then begin frantically searching for their keys. 7:30 Bus students and those lost souls who walk are arriving at school, wondering why they came in the first place. 7:35 “What bell was that?” 7:40 All instigators are at work now trying to schedule at least a two-round match during lunch. Hoards of “hongry” people are crowded around the school store about this time. 7:45 “What bell was that?” 7:50 “Good morning, today is .. . and the Bright Lite is ...” “Who?” 7:55 “What bell was that?” 8: 00 “Did we have homework in American Literature?” “Can I borrow it?” 8:0 1 777 . 77 . 77 . 777 ., 5 Morning Time 1 0 m 8:02 The students are finally waking up and class has begun. 8:05 “Good morning class, would everyone take out their books and turn to page . .?” 8:06 “May I go . . .?, Can I see . . .?, I need a pass to . . .!” 8:15 About this time students are hard at work. Some are painting their nails, others, are catching up on the latest gossip, and then there are those astute few who are actually doing their classwork. 9:35 As the students sit in class they are interrupted by a loud Uuuuuurrrrr. The teacher is frantically searching for the drill form. 10:05 Half an hour later the fire drill is over yet only a few students have made it back to the classroom. “Seven people are missing, has anyone seen . . .?” This question falls upon deaf ears because stomachs are asking a much more important question. “What’s for lunch?” 7 Present . . Lunch Time FUTURE 1 1:04 - Students mill around the lunch rooms deciding if lunch is really worth 50 cents. When most decide it is, the lines begin to fill up. 11:10 - Some guys are standing by the wall - too cool to eat lunch. 11:11 - The females are gabbing about everything they didn’t finish discussing during 4th period. 1 1:20 - Most everyone has gotten their lunch and is beginning to grub. “Munch, Munch, Crunch, Slurp!” 1 1:28 - The crowd starts to get rowdie because the food makes people hyper. Everyone is trying to convince the guard to let them out early. 1 1:30 - A few sneak through while others push through the crowd causing a few minor upsets. 11:3 1 - The watchful eye of a V.P prevents confrontation. Around 11:35 - The doors are opened and the cycle is repeated. 9 mn 12 KARLENE ABRAHAMS “Miss K.” Karen, Deniece, Mother Word Processing Libra ANTHONY ADAMS “Peach-Fuzz” Pookie, Coop, Kenny Money Maker Scorpio DENIECE ADAMS “Neet Ski” Kariene, Karen, Mother Fashion Designer Aquarius Kariene Abrahams Anthony Adams Denice Adams COURTNEY ADGER “Coop N.” Freak, El-dog, The Ville Money Maker Saggitarius LACHELLE ALLEN “Renee” Kim, Yvonne, Devon, Communications Aries CHERYL ALLEYNE “Squirrel” Joan, Andrea, Mom Journalist Aquarius MARK ALLEYNE “Markey” Larry H., Pieter H., Venton F. From the Revolutionary War to the War in Viet Nam, in national crises and natural disasters, the National Guard has always been ready when America called. Today is no different. The Guard still needs the kind or people who know peace and freedom don’t come cheap. Who are willing to stand up and be counted when the chips are down. If you’re one of them—and you’ve got two days a month and two weeks a year to invest in something important—we’ve got a job, a pay- check, and some pretty attractive benefits waiting for you. Talk to your local Army Guard recruiter today. rriTTJGZZ Because “hero” doesn’t have to be just a word. It can be the face you see when you look in the mirror.
