One boy qualified for All State Meets and finished well in the State Open. The young, but coachable. Girls’ Team made exceptional progress. They finished better than last year in the State Meet. The course and school records were broken more than once. The frosting on the cake, though, was their phenomenal finish in the All Conference! Meet. We placed six girls on the All Conference Team, three first team and three honorable mention. This was also a first for Weaver ' Cross Country. This year’s cheerleaders remained faithful, inspite of our teams’ ups and downs. The cheerleaders cheer for only two of the Weaver teams, which are basketball and football. I myself want to thank the cheerleaders for all their support during the cold football season. During the basketball season I’ve noticed how skilled and flexible our girls are. They show a lof of talent and imagination. I just want them to know that their efforts are greatly APPRECIATED. By Anthony Craft Sports Editor. CARVALHO Manager A DAY WORTHWHILE I count that day as wisely spent In which 1 do some good For someone who is far away Or shares my neigh borhood. A day devoted to the deed That lends a helping hand And demonstrates a willingness To care and understand. I long to be of usefulness In little ways and large Without a selfish motive And without the slightest charge. Because in my philosophy There never is a doubt That all of us here on earth Must help each other out. I feel that day is fruitful And the time is worth the while When I promote the happiness Of one enduring smile. -Author Unknown P.H. Tallman, Counselor DAIRY MART, INC.
