DEDICATION Miss Katherine R. Goodwin For many years Weaver students have lauded the devoted service of this kind woman. The gentle manner with which she has faithfully given her time and effort to help students and their projects be successful has won her the respect and admiration of both the students and the faculty. Many important school functions and affairs have been greatly aided by her support, encouragement, and wise advice. With patience and understanding she has guided the Student Council along the path to success in achieving many of the goals for which it has strived. Her moral and spiritual integrity has played a leading part in the direction of the Girls’ League and in her work as Dean. For your sincere dedication to Weaver and the magnificent accomplishments you have made here, the class of 1954 salutes you, Miss Katherine R. Goodwin. May God bless you as you continue to help Weaver flourish and prosper. 6

The spotlight shines upon the serious moments, the exciting sports thrills, the variety of clubs and activities, and those wonderful proms and dances. We also tune in on pleas for a lasting peace, brotherhood among men, and a desire for higher education. It is the sincere desire of the Boards that THE PORTAL of 1954 will always bring to mind fond memories of three wonderful years. We can always tune in on W. H. DEDICATION Mr. Nicholas C. Coracci As we, the class of 1954, leave these portals, we take with us the memories of this beloved teacher. His jovial spirit and precious wit have created a happy atmosphere in his classes and a strong bond of friendship with many students. Weaver recognizes him as its good-natured treasurer” who, as faculty adviser to the Business Board of the Lookout, has handled efficiently the funds of the paper to keep it in the chips.” His smiling face was always present at the ticket window to greet Weaver rooters. He has spent countless hours of work in managing the affairs of the schedule room. Girls desiring to enter the secretarial field appreciate the excellent training he has given them in typing and in shorthand. For the praiseworthy way in which you have gone beyond the call of duty to serve Weaver by offering a helping hand, the class of 1934 extends an expres¬ sion of gratitude to you, Mr. Nicholas C. Coracci. 7
