PI H H THE ANNUAL STAFF OF WEAVER HIGH SCHOOL PRESENTS To Live . . . — Sharing Horizons That Are Working Together . . . Day To Day Dedication This year's Catamount is aptly dedicated to a group who did more to make Weaver High School a reality than any other group or individ- ual. In remaining at Weaver Junior High School as tenth graders, this class showed unquestionable faith in a dream that each year a grade would be added for them. There were times when it seemed as if they might have to enter other schools to complete their high school education. For many, their staying meant sacrifice - the sacrifice of being a part of an established school system with more to offer in the areas of academics, athletics, and extracurricular activities. But this group remained steadfast, and it is their privilege to be the very first graduating class of Weaver High School - an honor no other group can claim and one for which they deserve our deepest gratitude. Therefore, the Annual Staff proudly dedicates The 1972 Cata- mount to the SENIOR CLASS. Calhoun County Board Of Education Mr. Carlton Johnson, Mr. Gerald Acker, Mr. Charles Boozer, Superintendent; Mr. Hugh Smitherman, Mr. Tom Read, Mr. Donald Curry. Weaver High School Board Of Trustees MR. JIM PAYNE, Chairman MR. CARL MAGOUIRK MR. GORDON SIMMONS 14 Mr. Clarence Boshell, Principal Principal’s Message We have a new image at Weaver High School, and the new campus and our beautiful building are only a pan of that image. You, as students of Weaver High, do more to build an image than all of the buildings and grounds can ever do. When you moved into the first phase of establishing a high school, you were not high school students in your attitudes and actions. You had to begin to pro- ject an image of maturity without hav- ing the advantage of upperclassmen's examples. You have accomplished this transformation remarkable well, and this year you began projecting an image that is in keeping with your years. As you look through and read this yearbook, you will see the new image that you are projecting to the world. You have only just begun. is Guidance Counselor MRS. NELL ASKEW Secretary MRS.
