■ r WEAVER HIGH SCHOOL WEAVER ALABAMA CATAMOUNT 1971 We are on the threshold of something new ... In this edition of the Catamount, we have tried to capture some of the excitement, the spirit, the activity that is present here at Weaver High School. Excitement and anticipation of building the new and continuing to im- prove upon the old prevailed this year. We hope that as you leaf through these pages, you will remember the old building as the place where you learned together, shared together, had fun together, and planned for the NEW together. Administration - 11 TABLE OF Faculty - 17 Organizations - 53 Activities - 79 Advertisements - 115 THE OLD A LOOK AT THE NEW . . WHAT WILL THE FUTURE HOLD? DEDICATION The new Weaver High School is no longer a dream. The plans have been drawn, the land cleared, and Phase One of four phases is to be completed for occupancy by Septem- ber, 1971. All of this would not have been possible without three groups of individuals working together. Therefore, we, the Catamount staff would like to dedicate this volume of our yearbook to: CLASS?: Lovme CLAsseow IX Atsi- 13 a ITTTTTX.ru Lf nQbf{G€ LA6 UASSCoon n UAssHm t II Clfl$sAoo 1 16 Gifts Mftf . td 0 7 H ot i t tcorttmtcs UAsseix f It Class 866r i IS A A A -I H 3 _________________ CLASStoon 4 to Ciflsscodrf ‘7 D CLASSROOM 3 LIBRARY CLASSROOM O vesiieuie TTXTli- L U Loct-tt filcome ttmiuca TTT T TTTTTT oys IKLS tlflSSRo«H Z I JL ScifMtc lATTl tL««coor i tOMMERGlAL Classroom s toetiooe CLASS Room b tlAsS«oor | 7 ClASSROOfl i 10 The PARENTS of Weaver for being Concern- ed Parents in their determination to obtain the new facilities: The BOARD OF TRUSTEES of Weaver School for their untiring efforts and guidance in achieving this goal; And, last, but certainly not least, the STUDENT BODY of Weaver High School for exemplifying their confidence in the community and school board by electing to continue their education here rather than elsewhere. MR. CLARENCE BOSHELL PRINCIPAL As you leaf through the pages of this book and remember WHS the way it was, you will also get a glimpse of WHS as it will be. I trust that the cherished memories of this school year which are con- tained within these pages will always serve as reminder to you as one of the reasons for your existance both as a student and as a citizen. That reasons for existing is that each of us has been given an oppor- tunity to improve the society in which we live. This book is an example of this type of dedication that several groups of individuals have put forth to bring about such an improvement. Mr. Boshell SECRETARIES 14 MRS. NELLWYN SMITH MRS.
