STUDENT PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE The school year 1962-63 was started with the Senate tak- ing a much more active part in school affairs and decisions. The Senate is made up of the Student Body officers, four boy and four girl senators from each class, the class presidents, Council of Girls President, Boys Federation President, and leaders of various school organizations and activities. Mr. Newman, Vice-Principal of the school, served as our advisor throughout the year and we owe much of our success to his fine guidance. Meetings were held on the first and third Wednesdays of each month to work out school problems. The Board of Control met on the first and third Mondays of each month to prepare the agendas for the Senate meetings. The problem of Senate representation was considered in our meetings. Many students felt that the Senators weren't serving as true representatives of the classes. Many new ideas were suggested. A result of our work is that representation will be readjusted in the future. The Student Body assemblies were very well organized and a talent assembly was held, which proved to be a great success. The Pep Club did much to stimulate pep at the as- semblies and various sporting events. The litter problem was acted upon by the Senate and various campaigns were held during the year to improve the appearance of the campus. The school year was a very successful one thanks to the combined efforts of the Council of Girls, Boys Federation, Girls, Athletic Association, and many other school organiza- tions. All of these people deserve special recognition and thanks. The Senate meetings were conducted in a much more business-like fashion this year. The first couple of meetings were spent practicing parliamentary procedure. With this method of operation the meetings proceeded more smoothly and more items could be discussed. As Student Body President, I would like to thank the members of the Board of Control, the Senate, the faculty and the students for their fine support and interest in school affairs.
