42 T P? Q.,- Mr. Ben Curran, Principal PrincipaI's Message Onc never ceases to be amazed by the initiative and originality displayed by each succeeding Quinault staff. It is true again in '63. To the staff and faculty adviser thanks for another fine issue. The interest in student government, the responsibilities accepted and discharged, the cooperative spirit evidenced in spite of the crowded conditions and a renewed application to learning have all been apparent this year. That this is true is supported by compli- mentary letters from school, police, and flu vaccination officials and by comments from teachers new to our school. We can be proud of these achievements for this is the spirit of Weatherwax. To the Class of '63, congratulations and best wishes. We are a better school as a result of your leadership and endeavors. As a facultv, we hope you will continue to use this leadership and endeavor for the benefit of self and country. May we paraphrase the words of John Glenn: As your knowledge . . . increases, may God grant you the wisdom and guidance to use it wisely. Ben O. Curran I 'f Mt. Norman Newman, Vice Principal District No. 5 in Action This past year the Aberdeen School District has been especially active with the construction of the new addition to Weatherwax High School. During the summer, bids were opened for driving of the pilings which would support the new building. In October, the long-awaited project was begun and continued for several weeks. Early in November, bids were again called for further con- struction of, the building. Work soon began and has progressed steadily throughout the school year. Although sometimes hampered by adverse weather conditions, the construction men could be seen daily working to erect the new part of Weatherwax. The 1962-1963 school year has been a most interesting one. Various stages of progress and completion on the addition have been noted with great enthusiasm by many people of the city of Aberdeen as well as by the students. Although the old Weatherwax will never be quite the same, it is hoped that the additional building will provide the school with improved facilities and a thus improved program of education. :,?IV':rfS5'fgQ'M. i g,1Q '-v-...T I winner.. fa , in ,zgusauuwnnuaai - p axuuxwvunumxn u W munity. .---..:x rt- :P- , --., mal ,. iofanmi iuun nlumcwu nnnanuu. nmuuuu umunuml 5 ' IU!! s Z .....-.'S l'L......
