NOTES AND QUOTES ON 1960-61 Our high school life is not separate from life outside of school. We are a part of a community, a nation, and the world, both as individuals and as a group. The Quinault always has as its main purpose to record life at Weatherwax; this year we should, perhaps, take note of the out-of-school happenings that have affected our lives during the year. What was the world situation of 1960-61 as we hustled in and out of Weatherwax classrooms? What were the community and national issues of the year, the worrisome problems with which we and our parents were faced? What future did 1961 teenagers want, expect and plan for?
