we'-We f 'U' ff S. E .ref fi NF? lu Here we have Aberdeen, singing her way to fame . . the opening line of our beloved Alma Mater will always bring back memories of the happy days at A.H.S. In our sophomore year, we were again at the bottom of the ladder as we were when we entered junior high. Everyone felt a little lost at first, but it wasn't long before we got in the swing of things. Our first participation in school activities was electing class officers to lead us. We chose President, Ray Russell, Vice President, Harvey Hendrickson, and Secretary, Candace Harrall. Jingle Jitters, our successful sophomore hop, was our next activity, Ocosta also shared our happy sophomore year with us. As juniors, we became better acquainted and adjusted to busy school life. The ol' grind of work and pleasure will long be remembered. Activities began to grow, and they included class car washes, bake sales, and participation in the exciting Junior-Senior Ball. Class officers were: President, Ron Makos, Vice President, Tom Hendrickson, and Secretary, Karin Leaf. During our senior year, we were ably led by President, Tom Eastman, Vice President, Martin Audette, and Secretary, Darlene Jacobs. Since the annual Shuttle Broadcast wasn't held, due to unavoidable circumstances, a new celebration was ushered in known as Pep Week. The queen, Judy Phelan, and her two princesses, Judy Jako, and Mary Jane Kennedy, reigned over the gay festivities. Our celebrated team had excellent support from everyone. Spirit and pep prevailed during the week sometimes sacrificing the homework! Other gala affairs were: May Court Sweetheart Court and the Junior- Senior Ball, Hi-Jinx, and the Senior Play were both memorable occasions with much planning and fun. Each day we could see the progress of the new modern cafeteria, which was completed toward the end of the year. All these main events during three years of high school made us aware that a chapter of our school life was closing. With sadness and anticipation we were ready to take our places and meet the challenges of the future. -12-
