The senate. the most responsible governing body of our student government, is composed of the seven members of the Board of Control, one representative from each homeroom, and certain delegates from different organizations in school. Mr. Londahl was the senate's advisor. The board of control meets every other Tuesday to discuss business to come before the senate the following day. lt functions as a steering committee. Board members during the year 1950-51 have been Buddy Pattison, president, Larry Easter, vice- presidentg Lois Frafjord, secretary: Bob lVIunro, treasurerg David Hayes, yell king: Dick Brown, Boys' Federation president, and G1'eta Anderson, president of the Council of Girls, All transactions passed in the senate are governed by a constitution and set rules of procedure, It is the senators' responsibility to pass bills, make appropriations, and discuss problems and projects for the betterment of the school. The senate has worked untiringly to uphold the responsibilities and priv- ileges of student government and have had a very successful year, The senate 'tgovernedn the city for one day, April 25, and conducted a regular council meeting that evening at the City Hall presenting propositions and squarely facing the numerous civic problems encountered by the duly elected. Mayor Ed Lundgren passed the gavel to Mayor Buddy Pattison and each councilman withdrew from his place in favor of the student councilman. ,. 4, i f , , W ' My ,Q Z !,,, ., W ,414 nw W i , 4 ,, ,,,, ,Q f fi , WH M ,f I MZ?
