Eleven boys tense and FIGHTING RINGING with him in his first year as mentor here, an almost unfamiliar spirit of genial and hearty friendliness. Coach Jud Graham brought his boys from a newspaper not a chance rating to a fighting fourth place in the Southwest XVashington League. One of the finest things this year was the quiet, friendly inspiring quality of our coach. You should have seen him in the dressing room before the mighty Thanksgiving Day battle .... Taping ankles. band- aging wrists and rubbing sore muscles .... Moving about among the players .... Helping the boys with their equipment .... Smiling encouragingly '... Ex- plaining plays and signals ,... liver building up con- nervous listen to his final pep talk .... A marvel of simplicity and sincerity .... And then trot out on the field ....
