To the members of the class of l.964, it brings memories of classmates, teachers and activities. To future seniors it isa guide to their own endeavors. To all who read it, the yearbook is a chronicle ofthe 1964 school year, We, the editors, have tried to record within the pages of this book the memorable events of our school year. However, without the eo-operation and guidance of the teachers and students, this would not have been possible. We are grateful for all of the help we received, and we wish to thank those who aided in its preparation. Basic to making your way is an attitude and a willingness to keep on learning - learn- ing as preparation for a job, trade, or profession: or learning for the joy of fur- nishing your mind with new ideas, new ways of doing things, of living and meet- ing change as it comes. Only as you are able to adjust will you find happiness and success. Your fu- ture depends on your outlook. Aim high and keep an open mind. Roy J. Hating Supervising Principal Prrttcrpalis Message Somewhere there is a legend which reads: The Past Is A Prologue, and to this end I believe we so regard it, Past achievements reflect honor only to those who have made it possible, However, we of today must look to tomorrow - to the rivers yet to be crossed, to the hills yet to be climbed, and to the aims yet robe accotnplished. In this spirit Iurge all of you to serve your chosen work or profes- sion well. Reid R, Rahn Principal MR, WALTER EBLING, B. S., M.Ed. In October we were presented before the senior Secret Service mem- bers of the department of initiation. In December we planned and carried out our first assignment, a freshman class dance. After examinations were over, we left without regret for home with ninety day passes. During this year our department heads were: Class Presidents: James Slovak and David Coll +P l Sophomore We now had a year of experience behind us and we were promoted to the rank of sophomores. This year we were further divided into three sections un- der the supervision of Lieutenants Murray, Ebling, and Romano. Our assign- ments for this year were a class party and a picnic at the end of our training program .g During this time our department heads were: Class President - Ronald Fisher Vice President - Nancy Israel 35 Junior Being juniors, we now received more privileges as our training program continued. Captains Hayes, Hamm, and Susko were our advisors during this year. Our department heads were: President - Charles Parker Vice President - David Coll Secretary - Mary Ann Timko Treasurer - Jean Helker The Thanksgiving Dance and the Centennial Pageant in which we parrici pated were very successful. On June 8, we held our farewell prom entitled Twilight Serenade for the seniors. Because we completed our tasks with such success, we were finally promoted to the esteemed rank of seniors. Senior Out department heads for our senior year were: President - Charles Parker Vice President - David Coll Secretary - Mary Ann Timlro Treasurer - Sandra Rataczalt Our supervisors for this year were Lieutenants Ebling. Timko, and Murray. To handle the traffic situation at the annual Hill Climb was difficult, but we managed. Senior This year it was our turn to initiate the greenies and we think we did a good job, too. In November our Secret Service was deeply grieved to hear of the assassination of former President Kennedy. We, along with the rest of the country and the world, mourned his death. , Other activities of the year were: The Christmas Dance called the Snow Ball Hop, a candy sale, a car wash, and a bake sale which were all successful. Baccalaureate Services were held on May 24 and commencement on May 28. The honor students were: Mary Ann Timko, David Bell, and James Wetzel. After graduation exercises, we all enjoyed the all-night party given by our parents. Our class concluded the year with a trip to the World's Fair.
