l-llSTORY OF OUR SOPHOMORE YEAR The l9-12 l943 school term opened on August 3 wuth the Sophomore gurls heung assugned to Mr l-'orlacher and the Sophomore boys beung assugned to Mr Murrax The turst umportant event was the annual Freshman Senuor Halloween Party that was held on October 29 Eor the turst tume the Veteran Sopho uxores saw someone els ruduculed however all had a good tume Basket ball began on December 4 and un thus sport the lass was well represented Yearbook puctures were taken on December l8 and on January l4 and l5 cxams were guven Mr l-lorlacher the turst local teacher to enter the mulutary servuce left on January l6 The year progressed and we tunally ended school on May l9 t awaut our camung turn as Junuors ln the year of unfamy the class of 43 were Freshmen and the term began on September 2 l94l The gurls homeroom was un charge of Mrs Leppler and Mr Weur newly appounted scuence unstructor had charge of lu e oys The class was unutua ed unto thc l-luah School on October 3l and the Greenues were Mary Lou Bullug and Pete Garber Weatherly almost at tauned the league soccer flag but East Mauch Chunk nosed out a fughtung Orange and Black squad on November 5 at Nesauehonung The hustoruc attack on Pearl l-larbor occurred on December 7 and the next day the Natuon was un total war Basketball started un December and the season s results tabulated Weatherly s turst wun over Whute Haven un fuve years Exams were guven on January 22 and 23 ana the rest ot the year was uneventful untul the annual Gym exhubut School closed on May 29 l-llSTORY OE OUR ERESHMAN YEAR 'W b .
