WFATHERLY HIGH SCHOOL HISTORY ln the fear l83S the sessuon ot the Legusuatu c ot the Commonwealth ot Pennsylvanua provuded that common schools should be establushed un all countues and munucupalutues of Pennsylvanua Thus law was tollowed by many others throughout the years County Superuntendents were lurst elected un l867 The schools ot Weatherly taught the common branches untul l88l when a two year hugh school was establushed A bruck buuldung was erected un l9Ol replacung the old wooden structure formerly used as a school The tunds were provuded by Mu C M Schwab whose wute Eurana Dunlcey had resuded un Weatherly Later our school system was changed to a three year hugh school and un l92O and l92l to a tour year hugh school ln l929 ut became a sux year Junuor Senuor hugh school Enrollment uncreased to such an extent that an annex was added to the rest at the school un l936 Thus annex contauns tour class rooms a gym a locker room and a shop Tlneue have been Q98 craduates ot our Hugh School up untul l944 They lf-ave entered every walk ot lute and many have had outstandung careers o servuce to theur fellow men Futty years ago un H594 there were eught graduates Clarence Dodson Mary DuWutt Leon Sondheum Grace Eddue Ernest Lloyd Marnue Davus Walter Fluclanger Mary Rosenstock Twenty tuve years ago un l9l9 there were eleven graduates Herman Wulluams Bertha Heyden Charles Gregory Mary Donovan Horace Kustler Jean Cunnungham Eluzabeth Sloat Margaret Kuehner Lucule Kressley Elva Young Katue Snear x ' ' ' in u T - I 4 ' ' I I I X . - . . - 1 u I . b C . . f .
