As in your day, Hector, when the women spectators voiced encouragement imdgave favors to cheer athletes on to victory from the stadium, our Pep Club constitutes today's feminine back- bone of the sidelines. This group practices ChCCl'S and leads the crowds in following the C'hCCllCildClJS motions. Thls Oltganization also votes in 01' vetoes new cheers and helps the school choose cheerleaders by conducting tryouts. The cheerleaders chosen for this year were: Judy Canter- bury. Peggy Reed. The principal source of revenue is the candy- selling project done by members of the Pep Club at games. This year an honor point system based on individual at- tendance at games was worked out by Advisor Mrs. But- kin and Principal Mr. Widsten. Under this system loyal meters are awarded pins upon graduation if they have at- tended the required number of games. Led by President Marilyn Peterson. Viee-Pi'esident Pat Anderson. Secretary Barbara Hollis. and Treasurer Pat Stiles. the Pep Club gaVe a winter dance, ttThe Snowball. somewhat comparable to your Dionysian festival of mei'rymaking. Hector.
