Oh, Mr. Word! C'mon, Diann—Pull! David, the slaved river. This year The Staff of the Railroad- er has something new- a room all its own. Of course the interior decoration is rather poor, and it looks a little sloppy right be- fore a deadline, and teachers in the close vicinity complain of the noise involved in putting an annual to- gether, but it’s OURS, and we like it. Breaking school records was the team s policy this year for they set the following mosts : most total points in any one season (213), most points scored in a single game (78 against Canute), and most consecutive wins (7). The 1963-64 Rails were the first Waynoka football team to win District since 1928, and the All-District team was more than half Railroaders. The seniors formed the backbone of the team this season, but the juniors and sophomores also played powerful ball the entire year. Pictured at right are the main players. The abilities of three people con- tributed more than anything else to the Rails' success: Coach Loafman, Head Coach, who coached the backfield; Coach Denny, Interior Line Coach; and Coach Slater, End Coach. This was Mr. Loaf- man's first year as Head Football coach, and he compiled a record that would be tough to match and much tougher to beat. CONGRATULATIONS, coaches, for putting Waynoka back on its cleats where football is concerned. And CONGRATULATIONS also to the fine football team that has made Railroaders everywhere very proud of them. Head coach is T. J. Loafman. Assist ant coaches are John Slater and Tom Kenny. The managers Bennie Buckland, James Taylor, and Lee Bixler, are shown with the trophy that the 1963 Rails brought back from Weath- erford. The Rails were District Champs, but lost in the state play-off to Weatherford, 6-6, on penetrations. Mary Herchock waits to receive the tip. Railette forwards are engaged in some of the fast-paced and well- planned floorwork that resulted in their 17-2 record. Shown here are Tama Drake, a sophomore letterman, and Pat Lockhart and Judy Inman, the only two freshmen girls to letter this year.
