Glenn Bunnell Rivers had E U grown tired and sat down by the wayside With twenty eight members ' they organized the Junior Class with Thelma Bernice Biddle president Ralph Skaggs vice president Orpha Blanche Plerce secretary and treas urer Hallie Smith and Clifford Davis sponsors This made the second time Mr Davis had been our class advisor and he served lust as faithfully this time as before Miss Smith also proved her abllitv is an adviser and both were presented a Christmas gift Two of the girls decided that rather than tread the Pathway of Knowledge they would set their ship afloat on the Sea of Matrimony They were Mildred Louise Dazey who on September sixteenth changed hel' name to Mildred Louise Cord and Lois Blankenship who on December twenty fourth became Mrs Harry Harlan In October Mildred Louise Eskew went to Waveland High School and Howard Franklin Stansbury who entered the group in March was com pelled to give up his school work because of 1ll health The class regretted very much to lo e such a faithful industrious student who worked not for his own benefit but to make his class the best When his death occurred on March fifteenth all knew that though hundreds should enter their class none could take Howard s place Helen Louise Groves brought more honor to her class by winning first 1n the Countv Dramatlc Reading Contest The class presented their first play Cat o Nine Tails February fourteenth Owlng to the fact that the boys in this group were such star basketball players Mr Davls refused to let them be up at night for play practice They had to go out of the class for part of the cast The play was one great success every seat in the auditorium being taken as well as was most of the standing room This play proved to the publlc that the class was well talented One ex ening in Aprll thirty one persons gathered to be the guests at a banquet known as the Junior Senior Reception These guests of honor were none other than the Seniors and the High School Faculty The Jun iors regretted that the Seniors who had helped them with their many dlffl cultles were leasing and saw this chance to reward them for their past klndnesses Eight of the Jun ors sang a song composed about the Seniors sw After the banquet all motored to Crawfordsville where they saw Zane 2 f LN' -UW? av '29 'Bea can N- 9 i 2 5 U 1 ' ' ' Q I D v K ' 0 U 5 . . . .ky K I .K u ll . . . . , .
