A. is a club for Home Economics girls, sponsored by the American Home Eco- nomics Association and the Home Economics Service of the U. S. Oftice of Education. The club was founded on June ll, T945 and our school affiliated with the national organiza- tion soon after its founding. Our purposes are to promcte a growing appreciation of the joys of homemaking, to emphasize the importance of worthy home membership, to encourage democracy in home and community life, to work for good home and family life for all, to promote interna- tional good will, to foster the development of creative leadership in home and community life, to promote wholesome individual and Mrs. Carter, Mrs. Scott group recreation and to further interest in home economics. Our main service to the school is the oper- ation of a concession stand in cooperation with F.F.A., at home football games. The money earned is used to finance a team of girls who will present a demonstration at the State Farm Show in Harrisburg, to entertain the mothers of our members at a Mother- Daughter Banquet and to contribute to the support of our War Orphan. We sew for the Red Cross, prepare and serve an All-Sports Banquet, a Father-Son Banquet for F. F.A., and the annual School Board Christmas Banquet. This year our club presented to the Home Economics department a silver tea and coffee service. 2l

Vice President . Secretary Treasurer , Reporter Sentinel Sponsors The Waynesburg Chapter of the Future Farmers of America has been one cf the most active organizations in our schocl. During the past year our chapter helped to organize an area F. F. A. chapter and initiated new members. Members of the group attended and took part in the Pittsburgh Livestock Show and the Pennsylvania State Farm Show held in Harrisburg in January. While at the State 20 James Jones Delbert Fox . Thomas Calvert Ronald Cole ,, Gary Cowell Ralph Tennant Mr. Closser, Mr. Cox Farm Show our group presented a demonstra- tion entitled Lightning Strikes Twice. The demcnstration team took second place and won 540. This chapter also sponsored concessions at the Greene County Fair and during the Waynesburg High School home football games. For their social activities they spon- sored a hayride and a Parent-Son banquet.

Nature Study Club The Nature Study Club is made up of during the year. This year they planned a members of the Nature Study Class. Most of trip to Pittsburgh.
