Alpha Tri-Hi-Y The purpose of the Tri-Hi-Y Club is: To create, maintain and extend throughout the home, school and community, high standards of Christian character. Tri-Hi-Y's platform is as exemplified by high school girls CHU, affili- ated with the Y. M. C. A. KYB. Alpha Tri-Hi-Y of Waynesburg has many beneficial proiects. This year, we packed bas- kets for the needy, collected money for the Muscular Dystrophy Fund, and donated money to several useful projects. Alpha also spon- sored the Homecoming Dance, the proceeds of which were used to carry out their char- itable projects. clean speech, sports, scholarship, and living. The purpose of the Library Science Club is to help attain a greater knowledge of the use of the library and thus be able to help fel- low students find information or references. The outstanding project this year as in the past was National Book Week Poster Con- test. The competition between the home rooms proved to be quite keen thus making the decision as to the best one quite difficult. Club members entered into the spirit of the Scene taken during one ofthe librory's busy periods. Library Science Club week by preparing interesting book lists which proved popular with the students using the library. During the spring banquet special recog- nition was given to those members partici- pating for the third year. The Beta Tri-Hi-Y had a busy and success- ful year. Among their worthwhile projects for the year was the program planned for Brotherhood Week. The program consisted of a Frank Sinatra film, The House I Live In and a choral reading, Brotherhood of Man. Three freshmen and three sophomores took part in the choral reading. Beta Tri-Hi-Y To finance their many charitable works, the girls operated a concession during the winter sports season, and also sponsored a bakesale. In the spring the girls held their annual Spring Banquet. They also sent delegates to attend the national Conference held at Ox- ford College for Women, Miami, Ohio. Club Officers President ,, .... .
