JOHN GILBERT An integral part of Waynesboro High School for many years has been Mr. John Gilbert, chairman of the school’s business department. A grad- uate of Virginia Tech with a degree in business education, Mr. Gilbert has spent all of his 29-year teaching career at WHS, including student teaching. A resident of Staunton, Mr. Gilbert and his wife Beverley have three chil- dren and four grandchildren. His num- ber-one hobby is following Virginia Tech sports, and he is well known as one of the leading “Hokie” fans in the area. Over the years, Mr. Gilbert has assisted in the production of the school yearbook by allowing staff members to use the business depart- ment typing facilities and by making his office telephone available to the staff adviser. More than that, Mr. Gil- bert’s moral support and genuine con- cern for the hard work that it takes to produce the yearbook is a great source of comfort. For all of these reasons, SKYLINE ’85 is dedicated to Mr. John Gilbert.
