QLIPERINTENDENT OF SCHOOLS Dr. jacob N. Wentzel Dr. jacob N. Wentzel, formerly of Wilmington, Delaware, is the new superintendent of the Waynesboro Area School District. Dr. Wentzel, a native of Berks County, received his B.S. degree from East Stroudsburg College in 1953, his M.Ed. from Temple University in 1959, and his doctorate from the same in 1964. Since january of 1961, he had served as assistant to the superintendent of the Alfred I. Du Pont School System in northern Delaware. Dr. Wentzel is a member of the Delaware State Education Association, the National Education Association, the American Association of School Administrations, and the Phi Delta Kappa Honor Education Fraternity. Dr. Wentzel's professional qualifications are impressive, but his per- sonal qualifications are equally impressive. He is an individual of unusual scholarship who loves the out-of-doors and sports. His wide range of interests unquestionably enhance his capabil- ities as chief administrator. Dr. Wentzel's wife Hazel also has a doctorate from Temple University and is a specialist in curriculum and supervision. They have one son john, who is a year old. Saying welcome would be a small way of letting Dr. Wentzel and his family know how happy we are to have them-not only in our school system but in our community.
