FRIENDSHIP is a personal treasure. It surges from the heart saying: I do not seek so much to be consoled as to console; to be understood, as to understand; to be loved, as to love. FRIENDSHIP is a gift reflecting the giver. It grants a place in one's thoughts, a piece of one's heart. FRIENDSHIP is there greeting the principal as you pass him in the hall, cheering with classmates for the Indians, talking to an understanding teacher, planning with the class advisers, receiving advice from the guidance department, befriending a new student. Each individual at Wayne is willing to give of himself, and in this giving he receives. This is the Spirit of Wayne.
