A new chapter of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society was established here in 1942. This society, whose motto is To be worthy to serve the suffering, is the medical school counterpart of Phi Beta Kappa in the liberal arts college. The aims of the society are to foster the scientific and philosophic features of the medical profession, to help thc welfare of the pro- fession ancl the public, to foster research, and to advance the profession of medicine in public opinion. Students who have completed two years of the four-year curriculum and are in the upper third of their class are eligible for membership. Not more than one-sixth of the class can be elected to the so- ciety. One of the outstanding A. O. A. events of the year is an annual dinner at which an address is given by a distinguished member of the medical profession. This society also sponsors one of the annual lec- tureships at the weekly Student-Faculty Assemblies. fx Q. 1 ' FIRST ROW Cleft to rightj: Stephen Dvorin, William C Thompson Nelson Gantz Thomas Chapel SEC OND ROW: Sharon K.
