Spring Formal The 1024 Spring Formal, thc .-Xnnual XYomen's League dance under the direc- tion of lN'Iarian Huston, was held in the girls' gymnasium on Saturday evening May 3rd. The huge room was transformed into a fairy maze by quantities of soft green moss overhanging the room from balcony heights, and through which pink and purple butterdies rlittcd. Spotlights from time to time shone on the colorful lattice work that surrounded the dance floor, and the whole effect was that of outdoors on a gala summer evening. Dancing was from eight o'clock till twelve, the music was good. the punch equally good, and it was a reluctant crowd who listened to the fateful strains of Home, Sweet Home. The committees were as follows: Invitations: Frances Norton, Alice Porter. Tickets: XYinifred Sample, Virginia Hobbs, Lucille Mason, Ruth Stafford. Other things that attracted one were the comfortable booths and the- weird lighting effects. Black and white were everywhere the predominant colors ' , , wi -black streamers, white streamers, big white dice with black spots, black tuxedos . , i and shirts with gleaming white bosoms. Q, The bright colors were supplied by the girls in their bright evening gowns Q V 5 and a bright multi-colored spot light that followed the graceful dancers through t 1 5 1 :'Y Wig the maze of couples on the floor. 3 i . . 1 Practically, the whole class worked on the dance, selling tickets, decorating f l the gym, and arranging the program. Headed by experienced and expert com- f ' A S mittee heads, they changed a gym to an artistically decorated ballroom and ' 5 5 K l arranged the program so that the dance went flawlessly through the night. 1 ' 3 3 The punch was cold-the floor smooth, and the music good.
