Looks of perplexity could be seen on the anxious faces of freshman as they conferred with faculty advisors in an at- tempt to work out a first-se- mester schedule. Total student resident enrollment peaked at l,Ol8, setting a new WSTC record for first semester en- rollment. ,,.. Marilyn Marks, Tilden fresh- man, is awarded an Ardath Conn Music Scholarship for the 1956-57 school year. Flo Papritz is the 1956 Queen of the Green. The annual award is given to the most person- able, popular and pretty girl in the freshman class. The new queen was crowned by her cousin Margo Huebner, 1955 freshman queen, at a dance ending freshmen orientation. Dr. Brandenburg gives formal invitation to Merle M. Hale, Grand Master of Nebraska A. F. and A. M., to lay the cornerstone for the new WSTC dormitory in special laying ceremonies. Named J. T. Anderson Hall, the modern structure will have suitable room for l04 single women and 28 mar- ried students. K G 1, fve- is if fad! Religious Emphasis Week activities got under- way with Father Edmond, C. Walsh, asst. director of Boys Town, addressing WSTC students at con- vocation. Fother Walsh met with religious leaders throughout the week. Theme for the three-day af- fair was Christ, the Center of our Lives.
