The play's mood ranged from delightful humor to tender passion and powerful drama, as Mr. Sheridan and sweet, shy Shirley Wallace, a young settlement house worker, successfully steered Dino away from crime. Mrs. Letha Rice, play director, commented, There are three principal criteria in the selection of a high school play: fl? has it literary value, C25 will it provide good entertainment, and C35 is it within the scope of high school students? The lunior Play, Dino, met these three requirements admirably. The students found each role a challenge and their excellent par- ticipation enabled them to give a performance that can be classed as one of the best. , ,,..X , 1

by Facing it in Fantasy . . . SYNOPSIS Set in 1906, Ah, lNildernessl , Eugene Q'Neill's famed comedy-drarna, was the story of sixteen-year old Richard Miller, played by lim Bechtel, who gathered radical fin-H3065 ideas from such controver- sial writers as George Bernard Shaw and Oscar Wilde. Richard, lectured and admonished by his father because of his liberal notions, and forbidden to see his girl friend, Muriel McCornber lportrayed by Margie Perryl, promptly rebelled by becoming slightly inebriated in the company of Belle, an ex- perienced girl-about-town. After recovering from his hangover, Richard was suitably repentant for his over-indulgence and renounced his radicalism, to his family's great relief and satisfaction. The Seniors, in their presentation of Eugene O'Neill's 'Ah, Wildernessl', accomplished two worth- while objectives: they experienced working in a play that had both character-building and literary values, and they brought a good grade of entertain- ment to the community. Such were the remarks of Mrs. Letha Rice, director. F him cf . w-:x t t V' RICHARD MILLER ..... Bechtel NAT MILLER .................. ...........
