THE THREE YEARS BEFORE THE LAST fsen i or Year, Tool ln the year l949, a group of very independent and slightly eccentric people descended upon Wayne High School. Despite an obvious fear of studies and teachers, these people in some way managed to drag themselves over the scho- lastic obstacle course of the Freshman year. ln its Sophomore year, this group proved its eccentricity by choosing for its class emblem--a flea! The next momentous decision to be made was the selection of class colors. Naturally, some such colors as red and white were expected to be selected, they were. As the Junior year rolled around, this group became aware of its social obliga- tions, and sponsored a J-Hop, a Junior Play, and a Junior-Senior Banquet. ln the course of Junior events, the boys all bought class rings to give to the girls, but the girls bought their own rings, iust in case. An additional hazard faced the class when basketball concession season came, but all sellers managed to survive. Naturally, after working so hard for three years, all those who had survived were more than happy to board the Senior merry-go-round. There were many minor breakdowns, and those aboard feared that their conductor would not be able to make the necessary repairs, but she was. Despite many ups and downs, the group was still able to present a successful play, a Senior Prom fof coursel, and several other noteworthy events. After a iaunt to New York, most of the remaining survivors still had enough energy to march down the aisle and receive diplomas.
