RAY LONG ANNE LUKE CAROLE DANI GORDON BERGER SENIOR CLASS HISTORY A twenty one sp1t ball salute heralded our entrance on board the good sh1p 'W H S Freshman 1n September 43 Under the superv1s1on of Captam Bob Loveless we learned our way about the sh1p After stowmg our gear, we settled down to work Our soclal functlons were few, probably because of seas1ck ness Next year all hands changed berth to the W H S Sophomore ' Capta1n joe Iaskolsk1 found us now a seasoned crew We had learned our way about sh1p and knew how to handle ourselves Th1s year our work was supplemented by two dances, one w1th shoes and one wxthout The W H S Iurior was our next sh1p and we were really fldlflg the waves Capta1n 11m Green steered us clear of shoal water Th1s year we had many act1v1t1es, varlous concesslons at games, rec ord dances, and sandwlch sales We presented 'Ever S1nce Eve The I Hop, too, was a b1g event We chose class colors and purchased our rmgs All hands enyoyed the Iumor Semor Party Next year we really h1t the top Wlth a berth on the 'W H S Semor, commanded by Capta1n Ray Long Th1s was our last year on these seas, and the voyage seemed altogether too short Many wonder ful th1ngs occurred this year The Fall Frol1c and 'Iumor M1ss, our Senlor play, were two h1ghl1ghts We all had a good tlme at the novelty Semor Faculty basketball games Class Nlght was also a lot of fun Much hard work was involved U1 gettmg out the Spectator, but all the year s work was topped off w1th the Semor Prom, held at the Dearborn Inn Last, but not least, came the pleasure cru1se aboard the S S South Amer1can On june 12, we recexved our honorable d1scharges from the W H S Semor 12 W f . . 3, - - Occ 1 .. . . . . , - .
