of polio and writing that best-seller book, GERMS, AT HOME AND ABROAD, There are a few other important facts in this column. Donna Carlson, noted New York socialite, gave a ball at one of her homes in honor of Gene Baier. Gene now owns every oil well in Texas. Among the guests were Harold Fleer, owner of the world's largest bubble gum factoryg Margaret Claus, secretary to a Harvard professor, Paul ,Iohnsong Elaine Fork, head of the national 4-H clubs, and Marian Kugler, world-famous model. I guess that's all the news in that column. What's this? Local Man Breaks Record-- Sits on Top of Capitol for Three Years. Why, that picture of him looks exactly like Bob Morris--it is, Let's look at some more pictures on this page. Here's a picture of the new ten-story bakery, Frosting Palace, owned by om' good friends, Barbara Buehner and Lowell Swede Johnson. They're celebrating their twentieth anniversary in the bakery business. The Most Eligible Bachelor of the Year award goes to Arlen Harris this year. From the looks of the picture, he certainly is. Next to it is one of Nancy Grimm who has been chosen Miss Universe of 1974. Oh, what's on this page? It is the sports news! There should be some old classmates of ours with jobs as coaches now. They won the district tournament in '54. The editor of Sports on Parade is none other than Gordon Red Zapp who participated actively in all high school sports. Gerald Baker has been the World's Champion Boxer for ten years now. His manager is Neal Renter. Paul Koplin, noted track star has been named Track Star Champ for running on every railroad track in the U. S. The famous all-American basketball player, Jerry Korff, is now coach at the University here. Marilyn Henegar has just swam the Atlantic Ocean in fifty days, lreaking the world's record. Rod Tietsort, manager and top pitcher for the New York Yankees announces the beginning of the World Series once again. That's all for the sports section. Let's find out what's on television tonight by looking at the Entertainment Page, edited by Karen June Longe. Karen has taken Tallulah Bankhead's place. At five the Kitchen Klatter Show , starring Betty McCullough, famed home economist, is on. This show is a favorite of young and old. At six Advice to Young Married Couples is on with the famed author Berlene Echtenkamp giving her personal views on marriage. Fishnet is on tonight starring Junior Peterson, former Dragnet Kid, and Gayle Grubb, who is a finger man for the F.B.I. and also draws the comic strip Frownin' Mac. Other shows that are super are I Love Josie starring Josephine Brader and Dick Kluge. They are well on their way to stardom. Acts from the Morris and jordan Circus will be shown on Channel 3 tonight. Some of the acts which are featured are the tight rope walker, Beverly Welch, Larry Muhs's Death Dodgersg Jere Milliken's Jeep Racesg Lynal Longe and her trained seal, Murlen Ulrich's Magic Show , and Mary Ann Nelson's Talking Turtles. Patty and 'Maureen's Circus is the greatest sensation since Barnum and Bailey. I'm tired of looking for TV shows. Let's see what other enter- tainment they have in New York. Charlie's Stork Club opens tonight with the famed trumpet player, Charles Messer- schmidt, and his all-girl orchestra performing. The featured vocalist is Wilma Temme and the jazz dancer is Marcia Witmer. Marcia is known throughout the world for her dancing ability. Virginia Proett and Henry Thomsen, actress and actor of the year, will be special guests at the Stork Club tonight. They were given recognition for their outstanding per- formance in The Earl Green Story. just a few more news items before we leave in our jet. Sally Liveringhouse now owns a diamond mine in Burma while Sharon Lindsay owns a ruby mine in Siberia. What luck! Madame joan Pawelski, fashion column editor, reveals the latest fashions for spring. Men's overcoats are the style for women this year while men are dyeing their crewcuts various pastel colors for Easter. Hasn't this been fun--getting to read a newspaper twenty years ahead of time? These predictions probably won't come trueg but you can never tell, they might! I.
