It was formed last fall when the Key Club disbanded, leaving its membership without a club, but with a considerable amount of ambition. The W Club was their answer. All former Key Club members became charter members ot the club. New membership will be taken in at the spring convocation. The ideals around which the club is organized are the promotion of sports- manship and the formation of a means by which the athletes may get together socially. At a meeting early in Ianuary the boys elected their officers in compliance with the club constitution. They are: Dwayne Atkins, president: Walter Gilbert, vice-president: Bob Carhart, secretary: and Don Kollmorgen, treasurer, The club has had programs printed during the year for the Husker Conference play-oft in football and the district basketball tournament. The first Library Club was organized in 1944 by Mr. Landreth and a year later Mrs. Scace became the librarian. There is a library for both grade and high school students. Some of the new books added to the library this year were the 1951 Americana, 1951 Comp- ton's, 22 volume Diet of American Biography, 5 volume Diet of American His- tory, and several new volumes for each department of education. The purpose of the club is to promote better service to the school. Grades are given according to the service rende-red. One credit is given to each person working two periods a day for two semesters. - There are twenty-two members in the library club this year, which meet regularly on the first Wednesday of each month. The high school staff includes: Gloria Ahlvers, Sally Liveringhouse, Ronald Bichel, Evan, Bennett, Dorothy Finn, Marlene Thun, Mark Tietsort, Bob Morse, Iim Davis, Iack Korft, Rodney Tietsort and Lowell Iohnson. The staff for the grade library is: Beverly Carlson, Norma Bichel, Elaine Hurd, Evelyn Roberts, Sondra Haas, Barbara Debus, Dorothy Finn, Paul Otte. Bob Sieckrnan, Gayle Grubb, and Ierry Korff. Marcia Witmer took Sondra Haas' place during the second semester. f This year's officers are as follows: president, Barbara Debusp secretary- treasurer, Marlene Thun, and Student Council representative, Lowell Iohnson. When each semester closes, the librarians take an inventory of the books, mend the damaged books, and put the library in order for another serviceable session.

Members oi the group performed at the District Meeting of the Women's Club in Wayne and provided flashing half-time routines with their lighted batons at two of our high school basketball Qarnes. The twirlers led our high school band in many pa- rades, of which the Hallowesta in Norfolk and the W.S.T.C. Homecoming parade are the most spectacular. Since this is perhaps their principle chore it follows that they should receive recognition for performing it we-ll and often. -40- Doris Marian
