The CHII F TAIN Larry's Sports RSVISW November 18-The Wayne C1ty Indlans opened thexr 1949 50 basketball season by drubbmg the Woodlawn qulntet 46 39 Bob Musgrave was the scoring star w1th 13 markers 'Ihe second team lost November 22 Wayne Clty Journeyed to Cxsne to rack up the1r second vlctory of the season In the contest many fans and players were on edge The final score was 41 29 Braddock topped all men wlth 10 po1nts The reserves were beaten agam November 29 On thlS n1ght Wayne Clty went over the half hundred mark to tramp the Thompsonvllle five on thelr own court The lop slded score was 57 27 Braddock agaxn scored hlgh Wlth 17 thls time The same story goes for the reserves They lost December 6 Another tmp another vlctory Thxs scormg spree was agalnst Waltonvllle Everyone scored except 3 reserves We coasted to a 67 29 margln Musglave was h1gh for the mght wxth 16 counters The second team brought back to Wayne Cxty a vlctory for the first t1me thls year December 8 Noble came here and went home defeated to the tune of 56 31 Musgrave agam had a meld n1ght by maklng 15 po1nts The reserves also won thelr game December 20 One tr1p to Blufo1d was enough for the 1ll fated Indxans when the Trojans tramped the locals 42 28 Wlthout the servlces of Bob Musgrave the Indlans contmued to score Braddock scored 14 of the 28 po1nts It seems to be a habit for the second team lost agaln December 31 In the Hol1day Tournament Wayne Clty took top honors by drubbmg Clsne 65 24 and then takmg Klnmundy ln the finals 33 29 Braddock scored a record of 23 po1nts only to have lt broken by a Iunmundy player 1n the second game The trophy made the second stralght taken from them January 10-The first game of the new year was a dlsappolntment for we were defeated by Ashley by a 48 40 verdlct Thxs game was the begxnnlng of a dreadful slump WhlCh lasted for 7 games AUStlH was the star wxth 12 markers As usual the second team lost January 13 Playlng Very sloppy b ll the Indlans sllpped to a 47 41 vlctory from Woodlawn For the first tlme Elhs Holleman took the honors wlth 13 much needed po1nts Ho hum the Bs lost January 17 The th1rd defeat was suffered at the hands of the Clay C1ty Wolves The score was 49 33 Our center Kermlt Braddock h1t the hoops for 12 counters Guess what?
