The life of an individual is divided into several phases, pre-school, elementary ,S school, junior and senior high school, college or preparation for a vocation, earning a living and retirement. Of these, probably the most important is the elementary school because it is during this time that a child gets his basic training for the periods that follow, As the twig is bent, sois the tree inclined is an old saying which helps to prove this point. A good start is just as important to a person as it is to a plant or fruit tree. A fruit tree stunted in early growth never does produce its potential harvest. So we feel that in the period between kindergarten and grade seven, the boy and girl should learn not only the three R's, but also how to adjust himself to his enviroment through intelligence, through wholesome development of personality and character, through cultural education in art and music, through social values obtained in learning to get along with other pupils, and through self-dependence Guidance, therefore, plays an-important part in the teaching of elementary school K ' children. lt is with feeling of deep regret that we watch the departure of the pupils moving into the junior high school department, but at the same time we look forward to welcoming the new class of 1965, which will join us in September, Roger S, Pembroke Aixfigxx Dix Q it K e.,3j ,gg an X 'ff ' ffi ' A 5.1, 2 W ti , at W I .
