WW X flikfff' OUR CLASS HISTORY Bernard Porray When 1n the course of school events lt becomes necessary for the Sen1or Class to dlssolve the educat1onal bonds wh1ch have connected lt to the other classes and to assume the dutles of c1t1zensh1p for whlch school llfe has prepared lt a decent respect for the op1n1on 'of the other classes requlres that thls hlstory be transcrlbed We the Senxor Class entered the halls of h1gherlearn1ng as Freshmen 1n the Fall of 1949 wmth Bev Barnhart presldent Fred M1lke vlce presxdent Ronald Barber secretary and Frances M1lke treasurer Our small flame reflected a t1ny glow but under the leadershtp of M1ss Cass we saw It gulde some people to our round and square dance and our baked food auctlon In Walworth Mrs Kyle gu1ded the students who were to become part of our class ln themr class functlons Elect1on of offlcers showed Al Osterhout pres ldent Rudy Youngman mn the second spot and Mary H111 and Irma Brasser serv1ng as secretary and treasurer re spectlvely As the flrst rays of lndman Summer began to fallwe came to school as the flrst and foremostSophomores of Wayne Central Joe F1dd Al Osterhout Lucy Molmo and Pat Granger were the headllghts for the class Mr Brldges and Mrs Palmer helped us d1rect a more radxant beam than the year before by advxsmg our sale of 'beanles' and our strlngmg of green llghts for the St Pat's Dance September 195O' The brlght glow on the horlzon proved to be the Jun1ors of '51 Our batter1es were Arlene Zlegler performlng her duty as presldent Mary H111 as vlce presldent Nelson Leenhouts treasurer and Elsle Schultz secre tary H1ghl1ghts of the year mcluded a Hohday Prom a round and square dance and our spothght productron Nothmg ButThe Truth' Our two spark plugs Mrs Ransley and Mr Br1dges were wxth us constantly Now as Semors we were really on the beam Before schoolofflcxally opened we had a booth at the Palmyra Faxr and the school calendar reflected a busy schedule for the year September saw us electmg a pres1dent vlce presxdent secretary and treasurer Fxllmg these capac1t1es were Joe Fldd Lucy Molmo Arlene Zxegler and Norm Leenhouts. October was ushered ln w1th our round and square dance, Harvest Hoedown , December wltnessed our Broadway product1on, Ramshackle Inn . Aprxl 11' Our four year dream had come true. At 7 OO we pulled out of Rochester and were headed for New York. Our tr1p was very enjoy able, mcludmg our stay at Hotel V1ctor1a. In May we held the fmrst Junlor Semor Ball. lt was a bmg success and a new experlence. June saw Wayne Central reluc tantly close her doors to the Class of 1952.
