N E Another school year with the three seasons has begun with a place for every activity. In fall, the highlight falls on the return to school and the meeting of old and new friends. The crisp Indian Summer weather begins and with it outdoor sports such as soccer. Band and chorus starts and soon the empty gym resounds with music. Gradually winter with its cold winds and inspiring scenery moves in. Except for the winter enthusiast, activities are confined indoors. Basketball becomes the main topic of conversation and the spirit of Christmas good-will pervades the air. After basketball and the winter holidays, a sudden change occurs. There is a yearning for the balmy outdoors, the thud of a ball being caught in a glove and the excitement of play. Highly contagious spring fever settles upon the students as they gaze dreamily out of the window. Then spring bursts into view and every- one stampedes for the freedom of the outdoors. Music festivals and other joyous outings are held. Everybody enjoys each season, but spring, as the forerunner of summer, is particularly pleasing. AUTUMN H zr Once more we journey back to school, meeting old friends, join ing activities, electing officers, playing soccer, and trying to settle down again. We eagerly look forward to a busy year and hope for the best. 1 I
