Mr. Harris took over the job of class advisor at the beginning of sophomore year. The first major event that he organized, the Sophomore Senior brunch, was so successful, teachers commented that it was the best they had ever attended. The two class ski trips and the Junior Prom were just as spectacular. For the first time in four years, the senior class sponsored a Back to School dance, which was thoroughly enjoyed by students from all classes. Its tremendous success was the beginning of an exciting senior year. While acting as assistant coach for the varsity football team, Mr. Harris was also able to oversee the senior concession stand which was profitable at every game. His innovative ideas have allowed the Class of 1989 to turn normal class functions into creative events. All in all, Mr. Harris has added a new dimension to our class, and for that, we are all thankful. ■ 22

It threatened to rain on Saturday, May 21 , 1988, the night of the Junior Prom. However, by the time the limousines arrived at John Boyajian ' s pre-prom party, the skies had cleared. Approximately one hundred and twenty couples appeared at the Royal Plaza in Marlboro to enjoy a night of dancing to the theme of .. .Somebody to Stand by my Side, with music played by the band Vienna. After the usual dinner of chicken, couples began filling the dance floor, and for the next four hours, everybody had the time of their lives. The evening ' s success was due to the excellent planning of chairpersons Carrie Clif- ford and Kristin DeVoe. They, with help from the Prom Committee, parents, and WHSPO made the 1988 Junior Prom a night to remember. ■ Dwight Blaha and Anne Bryant, Doug Ball and Michelle Montague, Liz Salomon and Ken Holmstrom, and Karen Schofield and Ted Ball gather at the Montague ' s pre-prom party.
