The Orchestra was joined by a new conductor, Mrs. Janet Haas. We welcome her to the high school. ln April, the Music Department traveled to Orlando. Florida for a concert tour of Circus World, Sea World and Disney World. Despite the long journey there, the four days were happily spent under the hot Florida Sun. Music ' 61

Under the direction of Mr. Conti, our Chorus worked hard to perfect songs for the Winter and Spring concerts. With it's talented members ranging from veteran Seniors to Freshmen new- comers, the Chorus enjoyed a truly successful year. The Thanksgiving Day perfor- mance ofthe Marching Band was a rousing success, lifting the spirits of the crowd with stirring renditions of Mirade . Salute to the Promised Land . and a percussion solo. the Russian Sailors' Dance . The Concert Band was equally impressive at the Annual Holiday Concert. performing Toccata . the National Emblem March and a special song combined with chorus, the lovely 'Cantique de Noel . Thanks to CAPA the Jazz Band attended a clinic with the Keene State College Jazz Band and conductor, Bill Pardus. The experience proved to be worthwhile preparation for the Holiday Concert as the band outdid itself in the performance of concert favorites 'tDawdlin , Killer Joe and l'Take it to the Limit .
