'ii , X 5 1 i .wo-ri - vez: he time: two weeks before the start of summer vaca- tion, and WHS students were anxiously anticipating the forthcoming days when they would be free of essays and exams. Some envisioned themselves traveling to distant foreign lands, while others stayed closer to home. Summer jobs varied from lifeguarding at the town beach to working as an EKG technician in a local hospital. We found ourselves working hard in several other places -the usual Farm Stand, Brokelman's Market, and Friendly's employees accounted for about half the student population. Some kids passed their summer under the sun right here in Wayland, on that beach of beaches, the Wayland Town Beach. No matter what we did duringthesummerof1985,weall agreed that those 2V2 months went by too quickly, and before we knew it we found ourselves back in our homerooms again. Deb Fleck in Israel.
