'US uring the last four years, the talents of Peter Wood have shone through in many areas ofthe Wayland High School community. His abilities have ex- tended from the competitive classroom it- self into both the arts and athletic depart- ments. Peter has also played a lar e role in school government acting as an xecutive Board member of the music department, the drama department, and the Class of 1985. No stranger to live erformances. Peter has found his niche in ront of audiences of all kinds. Whether it be the comfort of Way- land's own Little Theater. or the strange- ness of a European stage. Peter has always been able to achieve success. Starting out with a bang as the leading tnan in Pippin as a freshman, Peter then went on to receive an individual All-Star Cast award in the same year for his movin performance as Mark in The Shadow ox . Settling for nothing less than perfection, Peter dazzled audiences for the next three years with his award-winning Winter Week, Contest, and musical performances under the direction of Michael Allosso. He pursued both his singing and acting in- terests in a summer improvisational re er- tory company known as the On the pot Players , as well as in the European Tour of the Youth of America chorus. Both the Northeast District and the Massachusetts all-state choruses have accepted Peter as a member since 1983. As his voice and emotional intensity have made him successful in the arts, his speed in the water has led to some tremendous aqua- tic achievements. Named Most Valuable Player for both 1984 and 1985, Peter has also been captain ofthe boys' Varisty Swim Team in its only two years of existence. Peter has shown tremendous dedication to swimming throu hout all four years ofhigh school - even reshman and sophomore years, when Wayland lacked its own boys' team. Peter's contributions to Wayland Hi h School, and the community, have broug t joy to many and will not soon be for otten. His talents have been developed with tremendous work that is truly worthy of both recognition and Commendation.
