TRIBUTE TO MRS. MOSS lf you were to walk in on one of Mrs. Moss' large group Biology lectures for the first time, a few things would immediately strike you as strange. For one thing, absolutely everyone would be paying attention. For anoth- er, everyone would most likely have a smile on their face. At the front of the room you would see Mrs. Moss giving a lecture with such enthusiasm and animation that you could not help but become interested. You can tell Mrs. Moss enjoys her work tremendously, for her interest rubs off on her students and she is able to penetrate even the thickest of students' skulls. Her humorous stories, while sometimes bordering on the corny, are always remembered as a welcome change from the school day's monotonous routine. Her tale of the two mating glow-worms has long been considered a classic. Unwittingly, she has been a women's lib- ber since before it became popular - always maintaining that a woman is biologically superior and more highly specialized than a man. She has been chairman of the PTO Scholarship drives since 1966 and through various fund-raising activities has always managed to raise a handsome sum. Among the most memorable of these activities were last year's Walk for Scholars and this year's PTO-Senior Scholarship Show, featuring the faculty and Seniors in many hilarious skits. It was a great success. Mrs. Moss herself starred in the performance, delivering an ex- quisite monologue as the bearded lady in a circus. There are many grate- ful Wayland High School graduates who have received financial assist- ance towards college through Mrs. Moss' efforts. Mrs. Moss has taught at Wayland High School since 1956 and has be- come an integral part of the Science Department. During her years here she must have accumulated many happy memories, including seeing her own two daughters graduate from Wayland High. Admired by students and fellow teachers alike, Mrs. Moss is a wonder- ful person as well as an extraordinarily gifted teacher. Her contribution to the knowledge of the many students she has taught cannot be measured. Although thoughts of retirement are crossing her mind, we hope she will continue to liven our Biology classes for many large groups to come. Thank you and best wishes for the future.
